On the road...
I have been well and truly bitten by the travel bug. I have been fortunate enough to have seen some amazing places, but I still have a wish-list as long as my arm of travel destinations. I feel like a different person when I travel... so free and inspired and excited by everything (which probably makes me a seriously irritating travel companion!). When I travel, I don't worry about anything - normally, in my domestic habitat, I am the Worry Queen, governed by lists and timetables and routine. However, this all goes out the window when I'm on the road - I throw caution to the wind and away I go (it's very strange, and this kind of laid-back attitude has actually landed me in several fairly hairy situations in foreign countries. But it all worked out fine in the end!). I also love photography (all the photos on this site are my own, unless stated otherwise), and I am never happiest than when I'm let loose with my camera.
To be honest, I am happy to go ANYWHERE, although I have been pining to do the Trans-Siberian railway journey for years and years and years. I've read all the guidebooks, checked out all the travel sites, and I even have a pair of thermal trousers. One day, hopefully...
Clicking/tapping on any of the images in the slideshow below will bring you through to a little piece on that particular destination (the locations are given across the bottom of the slides). Please note that many of the 'exotic' photos in this section were taken and printed out - in the actual country of origin for the most part - quite some time ago, back in the good old analogue days. They're consequently a bit battered and not the best quality, but they should still give a nice flavour of the country.

All of the travels shown above took place before I started this website, and any subsequent overseas jaunts have been included in the 'Meanderings' blog section. Just click/tap on the photos below to read more about these!
