Despite my predictions in my last post regarding our upcoming relocation to Cork and how frazzled it was all going to be, it's actually been nice and quiet as we wait on contracts etc. to be finalized before we move into our new house (the calm before the storm, I fear). Although we've had a wonderful few months living in East Clare and eating all the cakes in The Wooden Spoon in Killaloe (they do good cakes), the time has come to bid farewell to Lough Derg as we will shortly be decamping to Youghal in County Cork, all the way down there near the bottom of the country. I'm excited that we'll finally be getting more settled and I can't wait to unpack all our stuff, but I've enjoyed being close to our families so much, and - if I'm honest - a part of me is a bit daunted at the thought of starting all over again, making new Cork friends (hopefully) and getting to grips with a part of Ireland that's relatively unknown to us.

About my blog
Really, it contains a little bit of everything, from a celebration of science and the English language to the joys of travel and the Shipping Forecast. The title ('Meanderings') is a fairly accurate description of its content: I write about different things as the mood takes me, but hopefully there's something in here for everyone... Categories
